Yoga
Yoga is an integrated mind-body practice that systematically re-wires your nervous system, changes your brain structure and alters your cellular chemistry.
While it builds great strength and flexibility, viewing yoga purely as a workout misses its true purpose.
Originating from the Sanskrit root word “yuj” (meaning to yoke or bind), yoga is designed as a holistic framework to help the mind, body, and breath work together in harmony.
At Dharma Yoga Centre, we have a very down to earth approach to our classes.
No previous experience is required, you don’t have to be “flexible” to practice Yoga.
The focus is to move and meditate with the breath.
This is your practice.
Flow
Moving with Intention.
Flow at the Dharma Yoga centre is all about Flow State.
This means to be purely in the present.
An opportunity to leave our busy lives off the mat and to be here….. now.
These classes are taught in classic Vinyasa and Hatha yoga fashion - but always with an emphasis on moving with the breath.
You will always leave this class feeling more focused and like you’ve had a good workout.
Yin
More than just rest.
Yin Yoga is a restorative practice, all about nourishing your Qi (energy) using the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Poses are generally floor based and held for 3-5 minutes - and are passive. No effort is required - let gravity do the work. Yin is suitable for all fitness levels.
Not only is this deeply relaxing and healing, it stretches and hydrates our Fascia, which helps us to clear stagnation, open our energy channels and clear emotional blockages.
You will leave this class feeling deeply rested, nourished and relaxed.
